H.E. President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi inaugurated the first phase of Egypt’s Light Rail Transit (LRT) today.

Our subsidiaries Hassan Allam Construction and Hassan Allam Roads & Bridges have successfully delivered three stations, two light rail transit bridges, and one tunnel in the first phase of the LRT project. Our scope of work included three stations spanning over 8,000 m2 each, Capital Airport station, Capital Gardens stations, and Arts and Culture City station (an interchanging station with Egypt’s under-construction Monorail).

The new LRT line will connect the New Administrative Capital with various cities in Cairo, including Al Salam, Al Shorouk, 10th of Ramadan, New Heliopolis, and Al Mostakbal cities, in addition to connecting with the Ain Al Sokhna highway, with the capacity of transporting around 1 million passengers daily.

The first of its kind in Egypt, LRT is a state-of-the-art transportation technology that marks another milestone for Hassan Allam Holding in the transportation infrastructure sector.
